Who wants to go to the Kentucky Derby?

Me, Me!!  But since I live in NJ, I will be watching on TV and dreaming of being at the track.  If anyone else wants to "go" here is some inspiration for the day:


I will be changing the bracelet somewhat, once I pick my horse to "bet" on.  El Kabeir was scratched yesterday.

We had a little party to watch the Derby yesterday and it was a wonderful time.  I chose Carpe Diem because of the name and was also rooting for Firing Line because I like the jockey that was riding him--so here is my final bracelet for the day:


Of course no Derby party would be complete without fixings for the traditional drink the mint julep--and we were prepared...

In the end the favorite took home the roses by a length.

The mint julep charm is Alex & Ani - they have made bracelets for the Derby for the last few years - I just take the charm off of the little bangle they come on so that I can wear them with my other beads.

We always talk about getting tickets to the race, but never actually do it...maybe next year...
