Blue Fantasy & Beach Ball Empty Blue Fantasy & Beach Ball

Post by stacecase Sun Jun 29, 2014 4:17 pm

It is a grey, rainy day today, so I wanted to have some bead play and make a fun summer combo with these two beads.

I have three attempts, the middle one is my favorite, but the last one I challenged myself to only use production beads. To me it shows, you can definitely have some great combos without a lot of uniques.

What do you guys think? Which is your favorite or what would you do to further tweak?

Combo #1 - didn't like the two orange dillos, to me they seemed to overpower it (after seeing the photo).

Combo #2 - my favorite, feels really balanced to me.

Combo #3 - all production, I like this one as much as #2.

Finally, I decided to remake #2, because I really wanted to use the artisan and unique Smile

this is great, stace. you have really captured a "beach ball" feel, can definitely see it! am most immediately partial to the 1st one (a sucker for the orange dillo) but get what you mean about the balance. they are all great...after studying more the third one seems really balanced too and might be my fav (poor little evicted orange dillo).  Very Happy

I like number 2 best, too Smile - For me the orange dillo is an autumn coloured one and I cannot make it work for me outside that theme. It is great to see it enjoying summer, too Wink

I like #2 best too just looking at the photographs as a whole without dwelling on individual beads. Bead play is so much fun. Smile

Really hard pressed for a favorite because they are all beautiful. I do like the use of production blue denim though, that bead just kind of sits there for me and says "Why don't you love me as much as a pink prism."

Great challenge ! I think I like the last one best, in number 1 I would swap one of the orange 'dillos for another orange bead, I think they only take over because there are two of them Wink
