Trying to capture some sun
I'm still counting down the days until Winter is over, so I thought I'd do a sunny bracelet to try to entice the sun to come out and play
Today is actually a sunny day, so maybe there's some method to my madness

Yes, the thin ones are artisan baltic ambers, but one broke shortly after I took the picture I guess being thin they were a bit more fragile.

Beautiful combo! Love the ambers. Did the one break so that it is unwearable or just crack? I have a couple really small ambers and have been concerned about something like this happening.

It broke in two, so unwearable I dropped the bracelet about a foot onto the windowsill.
I do have one WT baltic amber that got a small crack in it when it was shipped to me, but it is still wearable since the crack was on the side. This is the second one that has broken into pieces, although both were ones that are a bit more sparkly/crackly to begin with though so I guess it doesn't take much sometimes.

I knew the ambers were more fragile but haven't had any break. Were the breaks caused by falls? I hope you don't mind my asking such a nosy question but I worry about my ambers, especially my irreplaceable barrel amber.

Gorgeous! Try some super glue. I dropped my rune amber a year or so ago and it split in two. I used super glue and I have my rune back.

Sorry to hear about your amber.
I love the OOAK in the middle, I would love to find one like that.

Both the complete breaks were caused by dropping them. The first I dropped several feet onto a tile floor, and it smashed into pieces. This one was only a foot though, but it is a thinner bead so that might have played into it, as well as it being sparkly. I do think it's likely that they were sparkly and just more fragile because of that.
I don't know why the WT amber cracked since it was packaged well. Someone had suggested that maybe it was due to a more extreme temperature change somewhere on its way to me?

I may try that since it was just into two fairly clean pieces, without any other smaller pieces breaking off. And now that I've tried this combination, I really like it!

I got that OOAK probably about 1.5 years ago, but I've seen at least two others on people's bracelets, so they definitely are out there

Re: Trying to capture some sun
Very beautiful and I am so sorry that one of them broke!
Amber is not a stone and very succeptible to heat/coldness. I have two large pieces (no beads) that have been brittle ever since we moved to Africa and even more so after we moved back from Africa. The heat in the container must have been extreme for all the candles we had packed were molten/bent when we re-opened the packages. Luckily I had taken all my amber beads with me on the plane (puh!)

Maybe it is the colder Winter we've had this year that was part of the culprit then!
Yet another thing I can blame on Winter!
