Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Following Snorksmaiden topic...
( which i absolutely adored )
I would like to honor Game Of Thrones too.
And more specific,
the growing fondness between Jaime Lannister and Brienne Of Tarth.
I have to say
I am NO big fan of the Lannisters
and i never liked Jaime Lannister...
"Kingslayer" who wanted to kill beloved Ned Stark...
But series 3 reveals ANOTHER Jaime...
We learn to know WHY he is "Kingslayer"
and understand why he acted the way he did...
I am a sucker for the interaction between Jaime and Brienne
and I hope something will happen between those two...
My only ( probably likely ) concern is Cersei
She will kill if she ever finds out
Behold series 4
Starting from right counting with the clock :
The golden color from the Russian Amber refers to the Lannisters golden hair and the color of the golden lion on their banner.
Silver Smiley from Reltan refers to me feeling happy about this romance and hoping it works out Very Happy
2 toned Armadillo represents the crimson field of the Lannisters banner.
Falling Leaves stands for the woods where Jaime and Brienne walk for miles to get to Kings Landing.
Old Antique Flower represents the Emerald color of eyes from Jaime Lannister ( all Lannister have Emerald eyes )
and the blue of the Flower represents Brienne's eyes + one of the colors of Tarth which is known as the Sapphire Isle for the blue of its waters.
Faerybeads Silver Liberty reminds me of the crown and nobel houses that Jaime and Brienne are from.
Christmas red and green flower is again the red from Lannisters banner and the Emerald eyes.
The lion stands for the Lion on the Lannisters banner.
Russian Amber refers to the Lannisters golden hair and the color of the golden lion on their banner.
The RBF Hamsa Hand is for Jaime's lost hand of course...
The Lab with golden flash makes me think of Brienne's outfit : her silver colored armor that she wears the most and loves
The Harlequin is new and i just HAD to wear it It reminds me of the CHARISMATIC Tyrion,
the witty, humorous, lively and always kind Lannister.
A small adjustment,
since i wanted to represent the bloody cold that reigns over Game Of Thrones most of the time
the breaths you always see when people speak in the North and when Jaime and Brienne travels through the woods...the Milky Quartz
I hope you like my topic
and let me know what you think
SPOILER ALERT !! Bath Tub Scene Jaime/Brienne

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Ser Jaime is possibly the one GoT character with the most astounding development, from carefree and proud lordling to compassionate and responsible leader, as he first loses his honour, then his powerfulness and finally his self-abusive narcistic love.
Walking at his side, we discover that "doing things for love" is literally his ulterior motive, in a much truer sense than we are lead to believe when he pushes Bran off the tower. In fact the kingslaying he is despised for was more fundamentally honourable than being true to such a despisable king could ever have been.
If you would not believe it, just look at how he makes good by rescuing Brienne and then giving her Oathkeeper and sending her on her quest, how he values the life of his brother above justice even as Tyrion pretends he murdered his illegitimate son, and how he shakes free from Cerseis influence. His twin sinks deeper even as he rises higher.
I don't think I have ever found such "trivial" literature so enlightening and professionally written as GoT. Sorry for the epic comment, it's my Eng Lit A-levels surfacing...
And I confess to being slightly in love with Ser Jaime! Cease and desist, Brienne Maid of Tarth, or I would meet you in the tournament grounds, to whack you senseless, lol
TrollRose, thank you for that wonderful Lannister&Tarth combo! Lots of love stories in GoT, hope to see Danaerys & Drogo (or Jorah's unrequited love) next

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Snorkmaiden,
Forget about Brienne.
She will be nothing compared to how I will fight you for Jaime !
He is mine to be
And yours to leave.
Accept your defeat
And no harm will be done !
Thank you for your wonderful explanation !
But seriously :
I saw him first
So DIBS on Jaime !

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Love the meanings behind your beads and your bracelet is stunning.
I find Jaime in the books a lot more appealing than in the TV series. I don't think the actor is gorgeous enough to live up to his reputation. Jaime is meant to be a wonderful leonine beauty of a man with a fantastic mane of golden hair. His physical ruin should be dramatic when he is captured. On the TV he just looks a bit rougher than he did before.

Right TR, your choice of weapons! Lets "dance" for Ser Jaime, lol
Hmm BB, as glad as I am not having to remove you from the line of camp followers, I may still have to fight you for the slur on his looks, lol. Still, which actor would you suggest? To quote another epic fantasy writer, it may be that you chose the morning but I the evening, then like Gimli I will not need to fetch my axe...

That is why I prefer the books to the TV series. I can imagine the glory of Jaime Lannister (even though he is a perv who slept with his sister).SnorkMaiden wrote:Right TR, your choice of weapons! Lets "dance" for Ser Jaime, lol

I am also very disappointed with pouty lips Jon Snow.

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Haha, you're all so hilarious Very nice Jamie and Brienne bracelet, I always love it when every single bead has a special meaning on a bracelet.
I really liked Jamie on from the beginning of the show, despite all the horrible things he does/did. I was always trying to see the good things in him - and then he had this 'awww' moment in season 3 and I liked him even more...
...and then I read the books and though he acted like a real a** when talking to/about Brienne and found him worse than in the show... but alas somehow I still liked him... apart from the fact that he was having sex with his sister.... but at least they did not make babies... ... ... ... oh wait... but hey - they turned out to be really nice children mostly
And Brienne is just so wonderful... when she first appeared I was like *OMG* thats a woman... who turned out to be trying to be the perfect knight... and she acted so hilarious... and then later on the pairing with Jamie whom she totally despised... I sooo enjoyed their relationship, can't wait to see how that will develope.
By the way I'm very curious who of you will win the battle over Jon and Jamie I' out of the fight, as long as you all will keep your hands off Jaqen H'ghar

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
You guys crack me up, AGAIN! Love this series! Love the bro-mance between Jaime and Brienne. I am kind of nervous that things are going to turn out badly since Brienne was spared to (most likely) bring old Jaime's demise. I am not happy with Arya's path, but then, it makes for an interesting read.
Read the books! They are so much better. Perhaps they should be reread, so that we may pick up other things we may have missed during the first reading.

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
Well not entirely... there are more storylines in the books and many more characters... everything couldn't make it into the show obviously due to it's limited time and budget, and it would be far too complex for the average viewer to follow. And I'm quite glad the pruducers reduced the amount of side characters which I could never tell from one another.
I watched the show till the end of season 3 and then bought the books for a deeper experience. The first book is pretty much like the first season and I read it in two days, immediately started the second and third and eventually wanted to stop reading where season 3 ends for not to spoil me the show... and then I couldn't stop and kept going and going... and suddenly I was through all five books... and I soooooo want to know what comes next (for obvious reasons, as fellow bookreaders might guess...)

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
I am just happy to find kindred GoT people. I got my husband to watch the first two seasons, then I gave him the books. Of course, he didn't read them. To tell the truth, I often fell asleep during the show! I am definitely a fan of the books, but it was fun seeing the characters come to life.

Re: Jaime...my name is Jaime...
This is such a fun thread I love the bracelets and I while i fear that everybody in GoT will finally be betrayed, dead, maimed, widowed or all or any combination of these I just love to watch it. I am hopelessly behind, though for I always have to wait for the DVD... So it is good to have a sneak peak here and there
