Kingdom of the Snow Queen

It is still atumn here. The sun is shining its most yellow light, the trees are still wearing their yellow outfits, chestnuts litter the earth in the little park near where I live, and our neighbor is busy roasting red peppers and cooking Ajvar and mixed pickles in his garden. But Samhain has come and gone and there is a feeling in the air that these days of harvesting and warm sunshine will not last much longer.

It gets cold as soon as the sun starts to go down, and the night air does not hold any hints of warmth, any more. It is the time of the Holly King and soon the Snow Queen will take out her sledge and travel the mountains. Many say her heart is frozen and when they hear the bells of her sledge draw nearer they run for the safety and warmth of their homes. But they need not fear for she seldomly meddles in the affairs of mortals. Her life is one of winter and solitude and yet it is full of beauty - in the art of a perfect snow flake, in the crisp and clean air high in the snowy mountains, in her castle made of ice and diamonds under a sky that is void of pollution but full of sparkling stars.

here it has been raining, it is cold, just now the sun has been out for about 5 minutes..

Soon I will have to start too thinking about winter bracelets...
