Story of me
Here's my story:
This weekend my fiancé and I bought an allotment garden. In both Denmark and Sweden allotment gardens are very common and it's a great way to get away from the buzz of the city.
My boyfriend's grandparents bought the garden in the 70's and his granddad, who was a carpenter, did alot of improvements to the house. After the grandparents died, the house was neglected, but now by BF and I thought it's time to do something about it! So we took over the house and signed the contract this Sunday and I'm so thrilled! I grew up in the country but have been living in the city for many years and I really miss the peace and beauty of a garden and now I finally have one!
We need to do alot of renovating on the house in the next year and now winter is coming, so the gardening is limited. But I made a bracelet to represent the garden and I look forward to the spring.

I always wanted to have an allotment. Your bracelet is very full of life. What type of crops are you going to grow.

Re: Story of me
Not sure yet, but I'm thinking potato, rootbeet, carrot, onion and I want to have a green house as well where I can grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and maybe grapes.Brightonbelle wrote:I always wanted to have an allotment. I'm going to consult my mum and a close friend of the family who is a garden architect. They are great at judging what plants will work best on the soil, location, temperature and light and all that sort of stuff as I'm quite green (pun intended), but I have green fingers so I'm just really looking forward to learn and experiment.

Re: Story of me
Don't forget about some beautiful flowers in your allotment garden next year
Gardening is so much fun!
If your garden will be as lovely as your bracelet, it will be perfect.

Re: Story of me
Beautiful! Have fun planning the garden! I'm also lucky to have a gardener for a mom, my veggie garden would be a pile of weeds without her advice! Hubby and I have been slowly renovating an old farmhouse for the past four years if you ever want to compare notes, nothing is so frustrating but at the same time very rewarding! Enjoy it.

Cool! It will be so much work but I know that when I can sit on the terrasse with the evening sun in my face, eating homegrown vegetables and smelling the flowers it'll be all worth it.mandyjw wrote:Beautiful! your Story and your Story Bracelet
So happy you will have a garden and your boyfriend's grandad's land will continue to be a beautiful and peaceful place. Life goes on, flowers keep blooming, with a little tlc.

It sounds awesome! Fresh veggies! Flowers! I miss my mother's garden so much, she had a huge area and she grew flowers right in the middle of the vegetables as if they were as necessary as the veggies, which they are!

Re: Story of me
WOW!! That bracelet looks like a lush green bush filled with ripe berries, absolutely stunning.
But I cannot reply without mentioning your photography skills!! OMG!! I also think those photos look like they are right out of a magazine or even better! You must give me pointers, my photos never turn out like that
So happy for you on acquiring the farm as well. I'm sure it will turn out to be something to be very proud of.

Thank you!
I use a soft box when taking photos. I've always been fond of photography, but have never had patience to learn it properly, I've always been more of a snapshot person. But I recently bought a new camera and is practicing on the more advanced settings and lighting etc.
The softbox spread the light from the flash to give a bright, but soft lighting. It's a bit of a project pulling out all the equipment, but usually I have several bracelets and other things I want to take photos of anyway.
This is my setup:
