Dragonflies & 'dora
I had collected a few Pandora beads along the way to wear on my Trollbeads bracelet, then decided to try out ONE Pandora bracelet.
I have now decided that it will be the ONLY one. I really have no patience for fiddling with screwing beads on and off and I can never seem to get them aligned just right. This will probably be mostly permanent as well.
This is also my Dragonfly bracelet and my birthstone bracelet
I have to share the story of the dragonfly and I apologize in advance because it is sad
I was sitting outside in my garden with a friend and the dog and cat were outside lounging around as well, but I wasn't paying that much attention to them.
I saw a pair of dragonflies flutter to the ground close to us (they were "attached" - you know how they do when they mate?) so I remarked "Oh look at the pretty dragonflies". Then all of a sudden "POUNCE!!" my cat jumped on them and ate them. I was so sad, but at the same time realizing the cat was only doing what comes naturally. I just wish I had noticed him "lurking", maybe I could have saved them.
I thought he had eaten both of them, but later when I looked at the spot where they were, I discovered that he had only eaten one and left the other one there, injured, to die a lonely death without his mate
I picked him up to see if he was maybe just stunned and would recuperate and fly away. Alas, he was too badly injured and could not regain flight. I couldn't bring myself to kill him, so put him in the flowers and let nature take it's course. His colors were so pretty, so I decided to make a bracelet to honor him and this is it.

He is beautiful and deserves to be remembered! Would you mind sharing the brands of your dragonfly beads? And have you seen the enamel ones from Ohm Beads?

I love the blue dragonflies, and alas, my cat has eaten quite a few of them. But, I bear him no grudge, he's just being a good cat and trying to please me. If it's any consolation they have a very short life span. Your bracelet is lovely and a good tribute to all the fallen dragonflies.

Hi NMGirl, of course I don't mind
Starting clockwise from the lock -
(brand we can't mention) Dragonfly Dreams: http://www.diamonds4ever.dk/dragonfly_dreams-p-74207.html
Pandora Golden Dragonflies: http://www.pandora.net/en-us/explore/products/charms/790898
SilveRado Dragonfly focal: http://www.amazon.com/SilveRado-MS610-Sterling-Silver-Dragonfly/dp/B0053GU2K4
I've only seen the Ohm beads online, never in person, but they seem to be pretty.
I have one more on the way from Carousel beads: http://www.celticjewelry.com/carousel-bead-collection/collectible-bead/dragonfly-bead-silver.html and would love to find more silver versions.

Does anyone here have any Zable beads? If so, what is your experience with them?

Re: Dragonflies & 'dora
Thanks Stacecase. I've wanted to do a dragonfly bracelet for a while but haven't hit the right combination yet. Yours is great for inspiration.
The Ohm beads are much prettier in person. I chose green and it's a hard green to match.
I just checked out the Carousel beads and they are all on sale for 50% off. That's pretty hard to resist. (and I didn't! LOL)
