my new silvers
It's been too quiet lately, so I thought I'd post what I've been wearing lately. It has my 3 latest beads: four birds in paradise that I got from my family for Mother's day (my husband and 3 kids - are the birds and now I keep calling them that), the flower and etruscan that I got for myself taking advantage of buy one get one retired at 50% off at the LD.
It's interesting how each silver has its own favorite spot on the bracelet. I like the birds where my wrist has a curve to it, it looses a lot of interest when it stands straight, while pomegranate and chrysanthemum need to stay in the middle, where it's flat, otherwise they rotate and poke me... I also like not putting a lot of heavily oxydized beads next to each other, even if they are separated with the glass... I started with those, but quickly found a lot of very detailed heavily oxidized beads look too heavy/dark especially in electric light even with lighter glass, so I got some of the lighter polished ones, I think I like combining both kinds on the same bracelet best...
I am eagerly awaiting my FN (stalking the mailman), I think the birds would look fantastic on a FN... I have ordered a 110cm white pearl at 50%off along with the ballerinas and a plain lock. Can't wait to see what I can make of it. My initial preference was for 80cm, but it wasn't on sale. I thought if I absolutely didn't like it doubled, I could always shorten it at a local jeweler and it would still be a bargain...
