Thank you Queen Beatrix!
We Dutchies are set to celebrate our new King now beloved Queen Beatrix hands over the crown to her son Willem Alexander. At this last Queen's Day when the new King is sworn in we'd like to thank our Queen for her strenuous, caring service to our country and people!
We couldn't have wished for a better Queen!
To celebrate this historic event next to the recent reopening of the Rijksmuseum Faerybeads created a collection that pays a tribute to our small country, our Queen, our history and its people with designs inspired by paintings and drawings from Old Masters and which reflect well known customs and attributes connected with our country. I LOVE Amsterdam. I was at University there for 3 semesters. Will Queens Day now become Kings Day??

Yes, it will . April 30 was in fact Queen then Princess Juliana's (Beatrix' mother) birthday. From 2014, King's Day will be on April 27 which is Willem-Alexander's birthday. BUT next year it will be celebrated on the 26th because the 27th is on a Sunday .
Which university, Mavis? UvA or VU?
