Kimonos, lava and petals Empty Kimonos, lava and petals

Post by zenya Fri Mar 11, 2011 2:54 am

My kimono beads finally arrived today. I can now see why people find them hard to combine with their other beads. I first of all tried them with my new lava bead, and some stones.

I felt that this was a little too dark, so I then tried to lighten it up with some my scales beads, and chalcedony, and I am much happier with this one, as they look like petals floating amongst the kimonos. I am still waiting on an apple green one to arrive, and I will probably switch out the blue one then.

WOW!! The first bracelet looks very exotic!! The second seems to really capture the look of Kimono fabric!! You can't go wrong either way!!

Your Labradorite is rockin'! I've never seen one like that.

I like both combinations. But I can see the challenge in using them.

When I did have an LD, they had a grand total of 3 labs, all of which were very dark. I got these two, but the one with the green flash is my favourite, as it has lots of flash on both sides. I would love to get a pale one with lots of blue flash, but it is hard only being able to buy online.

I will keep experimenting with the kimono beads, but the more combinations I see on here, the more ideas I get on how to use them with my other beads.

I love both combinations. They are repesenting different moods. For spring I would prefer the second one. sunny

Zenya, you are quite right, your beautiful scales really brightend your bracelet up. Thank you for sharing!
