That might mean a dull ugly lump of stone with a few little bits of red (just 'large enough to be seen') in it?aprilshack wrote:More info on the ruby rock from endangered trolls! Me likey!

You have to admire them though, using the mother/child analogy to up the appeal of a cheaper stone

Like any semi precious bead, there will be some ugly ones as well as spectacular ones i guess.Since i don't have a local dealer, wonder if tbb will take a couple of pics of different beads going on my description?

I'm just glad they haven't gone along the synthetic route with this bead!

I am suspicious of the way the colour of the captions and the purple blob on the stone matches. Is it a black and white photo that has been artistically coloured in to make it look nicer?

What's up with the ruby rock? How is that different from the silver core ruby already available? It looks the same to me, but maybe I am missing something?

The ruby rock is not all ruby, it's rock with a bit of ruby in it.

The price of this ruby is the same as the gemstones ... 63.00 US ... not sure if that means the quality will be less than the ones in production ... will have to wait and see them before I make any judgements

Thanks for the sneak peek Smaug and Sherlock!
Thanks for the info about the chicken ring Mrinn! I must admit my first thought was 'is this real?!' too. I quite like the TB rings, but I would never buy one that I can't wear underneath my gloves. Rings are an all-day-everyday-thing for me, as I am not good at remembering to switch jewelry (well, except switching out the beads on my bracelet every now and then).

I did some searching as to what "Ruby Rock" was, and I cam up with this: http://www.nzrubyrock.com/ (mods please delete if not okay)
If I'm right, I think it's a New Zealand native stone with "Ruby/Sapphire and Tourmaline crystals in emerald green Fuchsite." I doubt we'll see any with green in it, but it's kinda cool it's from New Zealand? Maybe...

Thank you for this information! I'm quite excited now (and curious) and looking forward to this release! Does someone know if it's a limited edition? And I think in GB there is Mothersday soon?
