Plum arrived :-)
Look how cute a face she has!
Plum arrived safe in the mail today, and she is sooo beautiful! Now I think I need a fantasychain for her.
Thank you Sita for the lovely package, and the nice card that was inside. I will cherish Plum for ever!

I think I need a faerybeadfantasynecklace with labadorite before I can show Plum in a proper design. Time to visit the store (in January)

Re: Plum arrived :-)
So happy you like her!
Don't know if I told the story how the wings were made so delicate?
Can't wait to see how she'll look as a dangle or on a FN!

Re: Plum arrived :-)
No, please tell? Well maybe you've told somewhere on the forum about the wings, but I never read it. It's a big forum :-))

Re: Plum arrived :-)
Perhaps you remember the first version of Plum?
She had smaller joint wings. Discussing designs with Ruth we decided to give Plum larger wings and to separate them.
Ruth was still trying figuring out what wings to do for Plum. Then one day she is in her studio and sees a large dead insect in her window-sill. She draws inspiration from the dead insect and starts waxing the wings of the dead insect. That's how the patterns of the wings were created.
If you look closely you'll see how the pattern is continued delicately on the inside/back of the wings of Plum... and Lily too...
Because the master bead for Plum had been stolen, she had to be remade which is why it took so long to have her released.

Re: Plum arrived :-)
I will make close-ups of het wings, when time comes and the FN is bought :-) Nice to know about the origin of the details! Do you know the name of the insect Smaug?
Thanks for telling!

She is so special.
Smaug - What a story behind the bead. It makes her more special.
