A golden shade of purple Empty A golden shade of purple

Post by trollmoll Wed Dec 12, 2012 4:15 am

I was lucky to find some bead-sized ametrines on etsy and Sam of pixie beads kindly cored them. Ametrines are a cool mix of citrine and amethyst. I love natural stones and after the crazy rush and ridiculous resale prices for the limited UK release of OOAK stones, I decided to find artisan ones I liked. Paying extra for Troll glass and silvers designs makes sense but not for natural stones which are not really gem quality. Now if I can only find a Christmas ornament with a purple base and glitter like chestersnicker's....

OH MY. I am incredibly jealous of these! I'm a huge stone fanatic and these Ametrines are just phenomenal!

I don't know if it's true but... "Legend has it that ametrine was first introduced to Europe by a conquistador's gifts to the Spanish Queen, after he received a mine in Bolivia as a dowry when he married a princess from the native Ayoreos tribe."

I saw them on etsy. I really like ametrine. I am a gemstones fanatic and ametrine is on of my favorites semi precious stones. It might be great to mix that beads with green/violet fluorites but i am not sure it will be easy to find.

Gorgeous bracelet ! sunny
