The Goddess and the Green Man

I nipped into my local jewellers recently (ostensibly to get DH's watch battery replaced) but as it happens they are also a Silverado dealer and much to my delight they had some Green Man beads in (been searching for one of these for ages). I also picked up a beautiful mother & child trinity knot beadand have now made the finishing touches to what will be my Yule/winter solstice bracelet. Am so overjoyed with my green man that I went back and got a second one

That is a superb. Love the rich greens. Must investigate Green Man beads. They look fascinating.

This is the only Green man I have ever managed to track down but the whole of the Silverado cara Celtic collection is pretty lovely - but then I am a sucker for anything involving a trinity knot.

Oh I think he has survived the milennia of Christianity quite well

In this though i'm using him as a symbol of rebirth and the inevitable return of the sun at the winter solstice (also shown through the gold OOAK in the tree which i'm hoping looks suitably 'sunny' ).

Love this! I enjoyed seeing several Green Men carved into the choirs and exteriors of English cathedrals earlier this year. Some of those Silverado Celtic beads are fab! Thanks for the tip
