Pixie in Pink

I made this necklace as a play toy for Apple the Faerybeads Pixie who was sent to me by Sita as a lovely surprise extra gift with an amber bead that I won in one of the Auctions for Give Hope a Chance on Facebook.

Thank you - the girl grew up to be my mother and I think she said that the dress in the photo was for dancing but I can't remember which dance it was for.

I am really fascinated by the pic of the little girl, the way she looks, and probably very proud of her beautiful dress, and I wonder about the little brooch on her dress, did she love jewellery? did your mum instil the love for the beautiful things into you? (sounds a bit weird, but you understand probably?)

I think it is a little gold pendant with an enamelled blue bird and an aquamarine stone rather than a brooch. I was lent it as a child and my sister has it now.

Both my parents loved beautiful things and collected antique ceramics. My father made jewellery for us using semi-precious stones such as jet, malachite and amber.
