Re: Trollbeads Fall 2012 release sneak peek
first set of 2009 was made by different Chinese designers.
second set of 2011 was made bij He Yang Hong (who also participated in the first set)
third set is made bij ..?.... I thought I saw the name of Soren Nielsen somewhere? I'm not sure of that.
So, different designers make different beads, and at last Soren is inspired by his Chinese collegues? Just guessing of course

Making Chinese zodiac beads as part of the production line might also be a tactic for encouraging an emerging Asian market for Troll.

It is by Søren Nielsen this set.
I think if it is in production then it will be more for every body also if you just like the animal not just the zodiac you can buy it for longer.

I like the blue set and a couple of the peach/red beads. I'm not too sure about the silvers.
I wonder if the dancing bead is a lot different than the World Tour one from Austria.

I'll be curious about the dancing bead, too. I love fairy tales and Fred and Ginger. I haven't purchased that bead yet, though. I will love to comparison shop! Hopefully, both beads will be on hand.

Let me tell you my disappointment with this release. There have been no new pearls in a long time. I wish they would have some like the limited gemstones. I would like a turquoise or that aqua terra jasper.

The dancing bead is certainly less substantial and detailed than the WT one, and it's really hard to make it stand on its own (which the WT bead does easily). Now what does that tell us about the posture of the dancers? Exactly! A male dancer with a lunge like that... Apart from that, it's quite ok for price group 1.

I totally agree with you. I want that too. I also want a FN with more choices of colours.trolladdict wrote:Let me tell you my disappointment with this release. Oktoberfest! LOL that's just a cool bead. We have Bavaria beer in Holland so that's funny too.

I wasn't aware that Oktoberfest had colors associated with it.
That being said, an alternate use for the bead could be a representation of Dorothy in a Wizard of Oz bracelet. Yes?

Well, it hasn't - but it's in Munich, and Munich is in Bavaria, and Bavaria is one of 16 federal states of Germany.
It's like taking some big Rodeo in Texas and promoting it with a Texan flag bead... Texas is about as represesentative for the US as Bavaria is for Germany. Of course the bead will sell, but definitely more outside of Germany (and that is counting Bavaria ).

Why? I can't remember details from the book, and I haven't seen a movie. Her dress?

Ah! Thanks! obviously I am not a patron of the classics... but I did know about the red slippers!
So - Bavaria and Red Dillo for Dorothy!

Re: Trollbeads Fall 2012 release sneak peek
I was allowed to see the new release IRL at my LD last Saturday (but wasn't allowed to buy then, she was very persistent, but I can understand that...)
I'm still drooling about that dillo ! Such a great dark red and very fine tangerine coloured lines, I love it and it's the first one I'll buy! 'Cozy' is awesome too, from the pics I thought it'd look like Silver Mountain, but it's more like glass stone. And blue moonstone and the blue wavey one come in so many different varieties! She had several blue moonstones, some had purple buds, some golden, some mixed colours, some greenish which made it look like a blue Julian! And the weaves were sometimes light blue, some were totally dark, some were like a cornflower. The silvers - no thanks!
Even playing cards was dissapointing as it is much bigger and chunkier than I expected. More silver for your money, but not for me! I also liked the jaspers which are probably NOT dyed for once and had interesting patterns, the Zebras all looked like wood and the green ones were amazing!

Trolldiva - Thanks for your description on all the stones. Sounds like we have something to look forward to other than the silvers.

Funny, funny quote. I live in Texas and can so relate. :-)It's like taking some big Rodeo in Texas and promoting it with a Texan flag bead...
