Matt ambers? UPDATED WITH PICS ON PAGE 2

Has anyone ever seen TB ambers with a matt finish, like the retired sand beads ?
I've been to a LD last weekend and she had two ambers like that. The colour was a nice caramel sunset and looked very pretty. She told me, that these had been in a ooak-amber-set.

It's so dark here ,so difficult to make clear pictures

I buyed one from d4e it is like the caramel sunset with the sand finish.

The one in the shop was lovely, but really tiny, the other one had a nice hexagonal cut (can't get it out of my mind),
maybe I should go for that ?

YES, you should! I would love some matte ones but may resign myself to trying to get non-Troll ones, not having much luck getting the real thing.

You left a hexagonal cut in the bead tray??!!?! I hope it there when you race back. Those are gorgeous beads.

I think I have one, it's the one left of Thor's hammer in this pic.
But maybe not... It's not really satiny, more waxy, but very natural, it's one of my favourite ambers.

That's one like i have,they look like candy or caramel

I think, the one I've seen is not milky or natural matt, but has been treated somehow to get that matt finish.
Will post a pic asap. I can see it in a pale blue and brown combo, maybe together with the new autumn beads

I bought one the other day, the one on the left.

Here is my mat amber it is more normal in matt. It is the dark one if my photo is bad.

It may also be that at one point in its long history of becoming the temperature was very high. I have a chunk of amber (not for a bracelet) that looked a bit like Fuzzyfeet´s left amber (which I adore ) after our last move (the container got very hot somewhere between Africa and Southeastern Europe). Or it may be that it was not polished but left original ? Anyway, Fuzzyfeet, that is one seriously beautiful amber

I have one too,a yellow one,I think it's the honey dew. I do not like it at all am I'm going to sell it

It has a lovely chestnut colour and although it has this matt finish it shows some sparkling from inside.
