Letter Beads - Retired vs New Empty Letter Beads - Retired vs New

I was wondering about the new letter beads, they do look very pretty but are they as easy to read as the old ones? What do you think? I don't actually have either so was interested to know what you think about them? flower

The old beads look like the old beads they used ti make baby ID bracelets, when they are born. The new alphabet beads have hearts worked in their design abd look rather Art Nouveau inspired.

I'm not keen on the old ones myself, they are too obvious for me. I prefer the new ones although I don't have either.

I like the flow of the new ones but if I put "my" letter on a bracelet, you hardly notice it. They made the "I" too small Sad

The new ones certainly look prettier to me but I find some of the letters hard to decipher with all the hearts and swirly bits going on! alien

The retired ones are my favorite! I think their unaffected design goes well with other beads. The new alphabet beads are a bit too much to my liking. Very curious to see which ones you might decide to!

I have both, but prefer the style of the new. Although you really have to look at it to tell what letter it is. It's okay, I know my "M" is for my mom every time I look at it, that's all that matters. Wink

I've never been as much into the letter beads, but as I don't wear any beads with hearts on it, I prefer the older version. The straight design goes so well with some of the long retired silvers.

I have both, but really like the older style better. With the new one, I can hardly make out the "J" on it.

I could understand the "I" options, with the new style. It is rather small, especially for a capital letter.
My Favorite bead is Brew, so I LOVE the new style. But I love that abstract and filigree look.

I have one of the older style ones. I like them much better than the new ones because I have difficulty making out the letters and don't really like the leaves/hearts design of the new ones. I think it comes down to taste in the end.

I like the old style best but a friend gave me a new style L as a gift and I've really enjoyed using it. The good thing about the new style is you can get them easily. The old ones are really getting expensive and many letters are hard to find (like J )

I don't have either, but I personally think the old style are easier to read. The new style beads are so swirly and confusing--I just don't care for them too much.

I like the old style much better!

I am very particular about the curly top of the L (weird, I know).

With the old block style, I don't have to worry about it!! Smile

I like the new style better - because I do not like writing on my clothing and they are pretty hard to 'read'! Laughing So I don't have any of either style and no plans to get any.
