But I love sushi!

While thinking of ideas for my friend's birthday, I remembered that they have a silver sushi bead. And sushi is a big part of our friendship. I ordered it for her birthday, and that got me thinking of how I would do a sushi bracelet.

Well, her bead arrived the day *after* I saw her last, so it's been sitting here for a month and a half now while we try and figure out a time to get together again so that I can give it to her. Meanwhile I had been working on my bracelet. So since her bead was just sitting there, I decided to swap it on for the picture  



It's a bit of an odd combination, but I think it's fun. And it's made me crave sushi for the last few days as I worked on it!

I hate sushi (cannot think of anything worse than raw fish) but that is a cute bead.

Oh I like it, but not too much, has to have lots of rice, weeds and preferably no eggs... but the bead is great

I love Sushi and your bracelet looks like a lot of fun (sushi and bacon surely covers all the basic food groups with the exception of chocolate - maybe you could add a bit of chocolate, too   )

Well, the entire bracelet is meant to represent sushi/maki. The bacon bead is standing in for the crab in some of the rolls The green dillo for the avocado (although I realized this morning that I have a better bead for it I think). The white coral for the rice, the Ohm black soul and Nadia's wood sprite for the nori. The goldstone for the salmon and the scarlet dillo for the tuna. And then the green jade for the wasabi and the coral bubbles for the ginger.

Although I did do a s'mores bracelet back in December that had chocolate in it. I guess I've been inspired by food recently

@LindaJo, that is funny to have hockey sushi. Looks like there's a few of them in Ontario too! We tend to only go to all you can eat sushi these days, at least when we're with our kids. It ends up being too expensive to go anywhere else the way that they gobble up avocado sushi!

@Beady-eyed That definitely counts as sushi with me! I prefer the rolls. I find that they have a nice ratio of fish/rice. Although for a while I went through a phase where I just wanted sashimi (the fish without any rice).

I love sushi but unfortunately the sheer number of shops selling it in locations that are less than appetizing (in service stations, abandoned buildings, etc.) has put me off.
