Show me your custom-made glass Trollbeads!

I know that some members have been lucky enough to attend bead-making events put on by TB or their distributors. I've seen it done at the UK Convention last year, but haven't got one myself.

I'd be really interested in seeing what glass you chose, and why . Pretty please!

Here in Germany the beadmaker is not allowed to do any special beads at the events, but only six different production beads (Dillos, flowers and stripes).

Yes, that's the rule in the UK now too, but the first event here (which was the one at Steffans) the lady would make anything, (if she understood what you wanted ) she was the most amazingly talented lampworker, I can't remember her name now, but apparently she works directly under Lise.

I feel bad for not liking it, as I know I was so lucky to have one made, I did try, but I don't like budded beads and I have never liked the anniversary cat. It doesn't even live in my bead box, it is in my 'one day' swaps or sales bag. That said I haven't managed to part with it yet, mainly as it is a reminder or a very special day with my Mum and Sister in Law.

Wildthing, I love both yours and your sister-in-laws beads! I would love to attend an event where I could have my own bead made, but would be very disappointed to be limited to production beads. Stripes? Really?

Wildthing your beads are great, maybe the Danish words for "caterpillar" and "armadillo" are similar? I am impressed that you were able to get them both to stand up like that for the photo shoot.

If you don't like it, can I have it? that is my FAVORITE BEAD!

You're keeping it for the right reason. Poor thing. I think of Cinderella or the Ugly Duckling. It's such a beautiful caterpiller. Maybe you could make it a butterfly bracelet.

Sorry, I missed your reply earlier, I wasn't really with it (really shouldn't be messing about on here and trying to organize the school run at the same time )

No, I have never found a GLA, after many, many attempts I am starting to think it's just not meant to be.

My SIL asked for a light blue braid (61166) but with light purple instead of the light green and with purple buds - see way more complicated, but came out exactly as she asked

It was funny when the bead maker was making mine, I was thinking 'That doesn't look like any armadillo I've ever seen, maybe it will look different when it cools?' Then she started adding the buds...... It was amazing to watch though, very complex.

Does no-one else have anything for show and tell?

Here is my teal dillo I had made at my LD last November. Turned out to be more turquoise, but it's lovely and fat.

Here is my bead. I to asked for an armadillo, but something got lost in the translation !! and I ended up with a caterpillar the same as Wildthing.......and I absolutely love it.
