Golden Rutile Quartz (Update with Additional Photos)
In spite of the price I ended up buying the TB Day bead this year. Partly to support my LD, and partly because I apparently have no restraint . Any one else get one? How are you combining it?

I like the excuses you find to justify your bead buys, I do similar justifications myself all the time
but you found a really nice one. Have fun with it... life is too short ;-)

you picked a beauty! I can see why your restraint flew out the window on that bead! Your combo is gorgeous!

whooo, this sounds very familiar, same here basically. My LD is always so kind, that I can't get it over my heart not to buy. But, the buying decision was also much easier because there was this beauty. It is on my mum's roses bracelet and I must say, it is matching wonderful. I am very curious about what they say about the Rutile Quartz if that is true......
It cleanses and energizes, and it will help you make your life easier. It has the ability to lift your mood and is said to attract love… I sure can use some more energy and life making easier stuff

Re: Golden Rutile Quartz (Update with Additional Photos)
Update: while the Rutile Quartz bead I bought (shown in the photos at the start of this thread) looked beautiful from one select angle in the right light, the overall effect of the bead was whitish quartz. I really wished I hadn't bought it at all. I returned to my LD and exchanged it for one that has an overall goldish look to it (the darkest version she had in stock). I think the LD was a little shocked at my switching beads. I then created the following bracelets to at least alleviate my frustration by proving I could make some use of the bead:
Note to self: when no one else is buying a bead, and everyone is saying how overpriced it is, maybe you should wait and make sure you're making a sound decision :/

Thanks for the honest update, Beady-Eyed. While I agree with Trollperle that your combinations are gorgeous, it's very healthy (for my bank balance!) to hear that other people are dissatisfied with purchases sometimes. Otherwise every time I come on here I'm just gazing at everyone's new shinies going 'ooooh, I want that one too!' The darker gold really does glow alongside your other gold pieces, though -much nicer than the paler rutile I've seen advertised. There's nothing worse than splashing out on a pricey bead only to find it doesn't go well with your other investment pieces.

I could not withstand any longer... and got one of the pale ones. I have to admit that I love it and sometimes it must be the original.... I had purchased a non-TB also and had to send it back, since it could not be compared...
Here is mine:
By the way: did you realize the personal gallery works fine? or is it just me and now????

This is good to know. I kept wondering if I should have gotten a cheaper one.

Re: Golden Rutile Quartz (Update with Additional Photos)
is was actually an unfair comparison....
So saving money for this bead does not make sense.
But combining this bead with others is not that easy. I am wearing it today on a FN with clear/gold and pearls.
... and I love your second bracelet with the blues. Will try to come up with something similar, although I am lacking gold beads (I don't want to get into that... )
