Re: Trollbeads Spring 2013 release details
I have been looking at the photos at length but will have to see this release IRL.
Right now the attractive beads for me seem to be:
- svarm of butterflies (if it is well made and detailed IRL)
- elderflowers bead
- big butterfly (as central piece on a necklace or on a silk on my wrist depending on price though)
- agathe dendritic (if it comes out blueish or yellowish IRL)
The seahorse lock might be better IRL too, and I look forward to seeing it.

And if she choses the dolphin lock what then?

I won't give her that option. We negotiate and I leave her with a pile of beads to choose from. She went for the Berry and Berry Lock at Christmas.

May be she has been on the rocks temtimg other men?
Are they not called Mermen?
There are in English but maybe not in Danish.
Actually, Denmark being a seafaring nation, there are lots of stories about seamen being rescued by mermaids, who keep them alive either underwater or get the seamen to shore. The original little mermaid story is a perfect example. (Disney has made another version).
Same goes for dolphins who can rescue seamen or people going overboard.

Thanks for explaining. In the UK mermaids lure sailers to their deaths.

You are welcome. The sirens lure sailers to their death.
"The Sirens of Greek mythology are often confused with the Gorgons portrayed in later folklore as half women–half birds, (birds sing beautiful, enchanting songs, like the sirens are portrayed to do); the fact that in Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Romanian and Portuguese the word for mermaid is respectively Sirena, Sirène, Sirena, Syrena, Sirenă and Sereia, and that in biology the Sirenia comprise an order of fully aquatic mammals that includes the dugong and manatee, add to the visual confusion, so that Sirens are even represented as mermaids. However, "the sirens, though they sing to mariners, are not sea-maidens," Jane Ellen Harrison has cautioned; "they dwell on an island in a flowery meadow.""
"Sirens are identified as sea nymphs who by their sweet song they lured mariners to their deaths. They are imaged as raptor birds with female heads. The derivation of the name seems more associated with their bird-like nature. The name means 'she who grasps, binds, enthralls' and derives from Indo-European 'twer-2', 'To grasp, hold hard','ya-', 'To be aroused' and 'en-', 'In'. This concept seems likely to come from the Indo-European culture who were not associated with the sea. So the concept must have been modified when it got to Greece.
The Sirens lived on an island (Hesiod calls this Island Anthemoessa) in the sea. They sang songs so sweetly that they lured sailors to their deaths. Hesiod also that they calmed the winds from their island and that they had a piercing voice."
Sirens could also be pirates luring ships to shores where the ship would shipwreck and be looted by pirates.

I do love mermaids, I would just wish more happy endings for them (non-happy-endings make me so sad - I cried for hours after watching A.I. - that poor poor robot boy infront of the blue fairy, still hoping but never to be a real boy...) So: I am all for wicked mermaids - go and get your happy endings, ladies of the water
Oh, and I would have loved a real rabbit. Mind you, not a bunny. No fluffy baby bunny with flower motive... But a rabbit: big creature, long ears, fierce like the ones in „Watership down“. Well, maybe next year or maybe as an Easter LE (one can always hope ).

The seahorse bead looks better on the bracelet than in the stock photo, I think.

Well, Denmark is closely connected to Innuit ways too - and neither fish nor fowl could be a form of Tupilak too.
Indeed we are into mysteries here

If it only is real pink, but on the stock pic it looks more purple toned.

I'd really love a lilac one! Wish there was a purple leather bracelet...

Neither Fish Nor Fowl is one of my favourite beads! In the top five, probably.
I believe the pinkish Valentine dangle is actually called purple in the official TB description.
The Breakfast Bead----seems like another "life event". The morning after the one-night stand?

OMG you girls are soooo bad....
I'd say it is for sure a conversation starter!

Re: Trollbeads Spring 2013 release details
I love some of the glass, especially from the rocky beach set. I hope, they vary as much as the Indigo set from the autumn release, combination with other beads I already have become much easier this way!
Also some of the silvers I put on my wishlist: the starfish, sea Urchin, the coral branch, the seahorses, and I like the floral themed beads.
And I'm wondering, how the Big Butterfly looks in the middle of a bangle!
With the locks I'm undecided, I still have to get me the trolltree- and elephant-lock first (I hope, they don't retire these this year!)

I suppose the Seaman and Mermaid might have a Shades of Grey type relationship? Strangulation might be part of the domination?
