It Came From Outer Space - with Fiery Mask Meteorite Bead

A couple of months ago I got a Fiery Mask meteorite bead - a bead made from a piece of the Gibeon Meteorite, an iron rich meteorite which was found in Namibia back in 1836. It's thought to be 4 billion years old, enough to make me feel quite insignificant!

Anyway, here it is in a space themed bracelet:

I just googled it - it's an iron-nickel alloy (90% iron, 8% nickel) also containing cobalt and phosphorus.

The Fiery Mask eBay shop - michail1010 - although I'm not sure whether he has any in stock at present. They're not cheap (mine was the cheapest of the bunch at £50) but as saracat says, it's a good sized bead and very heavy!

I wanted one for a while and set up an alert on ebay. Once I got the notification that there was an auction for one I set a maximum price ( I think I was prepared to pay about £50) and managed to get it for £28!!! I guess I got it on a slow bidding day :-)

He does list them regularly so keep watching for one.

I've been oggling these beads for a while too and I always get the crazy feeling about them I'd expose myself to some kind of radiation or magnetsim when wearing them ! Isn't that a crazy thought? I think I watched too much X-Files in my youth !
I love the look of them though and you made a wonderful theme bracelet for it!
