I am still looking for the perfect-not-so-dark Hessonite Garnet and so asked my LD to order a light one for me.
This is probably not, what I had in mind - but it's love a first sight.
Finally an appropriate combo for my Leopard lock.

What colour did you have in mind though if not this ?

I want the color, that is pictured on the cover of the German TB autumn magazine: burgundy red, but more translucent and more vivid than the dark garnets, I've seen IRL so far.

I've been on the fence about the cinnamon color, cause I thought, it comes close to an amber colorwise. Then I tried it in a few combos and it did work so very well - even on places where I'd  tried an amber before and did not like this.
Seems, the stone has found me.

I think the problem is that these pictures are "enhanced"...either by photoshop or certain light, whatever.
But of course there might be one out there (would love such a garnet, too).

I have a similar garnet like yours, maybe a tad bit darker, it´s a lovely autumn colour.

And today I found a very very light one online, I am eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Like you I thought the color might be too close to amber but in the end I could not stop me from buying it

Pandabee, as long as the sun is shining, the birds are singing, my orchids are still outside on the balcony and there are flowers in the garden, I tend to call it late summer.
Then there are a few dark and cold weeks, that I try to ignore, till the first hyacinths and primulas can be bought in December. At least on my kitchen's window sill the spring starts early.
You don't wanna know, what happened, when I was thinking autumn last week.
