fantasy - Mystery stone - Fantasy Jasper? Empty Mystery stone - Fantasy Jasper?

Post by stacecase Sun Sep 27, 2015 5:17 pm

Hi Folks,

Can anyone confirm what this is? It was a loose bead that I found at my LD mixed in with old retired beads. It's a beautiful deep green w/burgandy, almost purple veins going through (excuse the camera reflection in the photos) Embarassed

I had a search around Google and the closest thing I could find which resembled it is Fantasy Jasper (although the TB Fantasy Jasper look a lot different than what you find if you Google for Fantasy Jasper).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

It does look like a jasper to me, too. Not sure about fantasy jaspers, but Jasper comes in many colours (some natural and many dyed). I have one in a green and reddish colour, too.

I think it is one of those Jaspers too. Did they come out around 2009/10?

I am pretty sure it is one of the fantasy jaspers. I had a set back then which also included a dark green one like yours with red in it.

I still have pics of it, maybe this helps (it´s the one in front next to the little frogs):

here you can see the red veins better (middle row, 4th from right)

Excellent find. The first stone that I ever bought was a dark green fantasy jasper with tiny veins running through it.

Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to having a play with this one but I have to admit I usually struggle with stones. We'll see how it goes Wink
