CHRISTMAS collection is out.... 100 hearts

Same old, same old, it seems to me...wish they had come up with some different color combinations, at the very least. Burgundy, maroon, deep forest green, olive green, aubergine, cocoa brown, cream, camel, navy, black, dove gray, cinnamon, goldenrod....

The holly and the two tone bead aren't bad, I guess.

Trollsister those colors would be great. I am not a red & green Christmas person.

Holly bushes and snowball will prob make it to my bracelet, but none of the other silver. Not at all keen on the animal heads - too little detail, a bit 'dora-ish, they never do cat beads well. Hearts? What can I say, we have enough...

And I have plenty of red and green glass; the blue is pretty but doesn't say christmas to me, and not wintry shades, too vivid....and the Christmas glass is always too expensive for such a limited seasonal use.

My purse is safe from this one

The Troll cat head would go well with the sparkly Charmilia cat for Halloween

The glass is ok, not very exciting and I bet it will be overpriced

I'm fairly disappointed overall.  I usually look forward to the Christmas release, and deep jewel tones are my favorite colors, so I have liked the blue, red and green beads from the past Christmas kits.  I'll want one (or maybe both) of the blue Christmas tree beads here, but I don't see any other must-haves.  But I think that might be partly because I have so many beads in those colors already.  If I was a new collector, I'd probably be all over the glass.

The silvers on the other hand - UGH!!!  Hearts, hearts and more hearts.  Can you say B-O-R-I-N-G?  The curled up cat is kind of cute, but I do not need a diamond studded cat.  What on earth were they thinking?  Does it occur to them they might sell more beads if they actually made them affordable?

The earring combinations looked kind of fun, but you could find similar looking earrings for a lot less money.  Heck, i make jewelry, so I could make those earrings for a fraction of the cost.

Gee, that's a lot of stuff I really dislike. I hate red and green together, I don't care how traditional it is, I hate beheaded animals, and the silver beads just look messy and not modern or crisply designed. Looks like I'll be spending my Christmas money the same way I spent money through the rest of this year - on brands other than TB.

Kyfhalfpt, now we know who we own that bead, I nearly spilled my coffee when reading this and I am not sure if I won't end up buying the bead just because that made me laugh so much...
However, they could never ever do a bead that would be a fraction so nice as the bird shown in your pic, I think I will save that pic, it is great!

but don't expect me now to buy the cat too just because I like cats

Aw jeez that's right. Trollbeads uses diamonds unlike Pandora which uses cz. Pricey! And I really like this cat too.

Another thought... I was imagining how they decide which beads for what season... When you think about it, they started in 1976 and for how many years have they been coming up with different beads? Wow I don't know if I could keep coming up with new designs all the time! I admit this Christmas collection is a bit eclectic. The heads are strange, though I love faces and such, but these are not sitting well with me. Hearts will always be here to stay, but a holiday troll would have been cool!!!

Me too and I disliked the Autumn beads except for the Apple and Bats. For me Trollbeads glass, all of it, is becoming very, very dull and is starting to look VERY cheap and nasty.

Have you guys been seeing the new Uniques that are coming out? I am not talking about the critters. There have been some new abstract bubbles with coloring that is complex. I have seen beads with bumps that are so different. I am crossing fingers that it will translate into the collection.

I'll have to add meh to the discussion. This release just doesn't really call to me. I do like the Fall release even though I haven't bought any. I don't tend to buy new releases, as I like to wait for a deal to happen.

Ooh, these are quite pretty - much nicer than some of the new production releases have been.

Why can Troll make beautiful uniques and then dull dull dull production glass comes out?

(and the bows and the flowers and any lazy uninspired klonky designs or rehashed glass which you think becomes exciting with a random splodge of watery half-hearted glitter )
